Congressional vote guide
How did my representatives vote?
Find a recorded vote on the official House or Senate website. Open the vote record and look for your representative's or senators' names.
House of Representatives
Find a House vote
- 1. Open the House Clerk's roll call votes.
- 2. Choose the Congress and session, then find the vote by date or roll call number.
- 3. Open the vote and find your representative under Yea, Nay, Present, or Not Voting.
United States Senate
Find a Senate vote
- 1. Open the Senate roll call vote tables.
- 2. Choose the Congress and session, then select the vote number for the bill or question.
- 3. Find each senator's name in the vote list to see Yea, Nay, or Not Voting.
Start with a bill
If you know the bill number or title, search for it on Congress.gov. Open the bill's Actions tab and follow its House or Senate roll call links. The official vote page shows how each member voted.
Only recorded votes name individual members. A voice vote reports the chamber's decision without a vote for each representative or senator.
One chamber’s vote does not make a law. The bill-to-law guide explains committees, votes in both chambers, and presidential action.
